Your questions answered

FAQs

What can the Mini ARC140 weld?
Farm and fence repairs, gates, trailers and anything rusty or outdoors where MIG gas would blow away. Stick welding tolerates dirty steel better than MIG. At 3.8kg it lives in the ute or on a shelf.
What thickness of steel will it handle?
1.6mm to 3.2mm electrodes, which covers steel from about 2mm to 8mm with the right rod. Lift TIG on mild and stainless with the optional torch.
What plug does it run on?
A standard 10 amp household plug, so it runs off any garage or shed socket. Keep extension leads short and heavy gauge.
What is in the box?
The Mini ARC140 power source, electrode holder with 3 metre lead, 200 amp earth clamp with 2.5 metre lead, carry strap and manual. Add rods, a helmet and gloves.
Is it any good for a beginner?
Stick is a little harder to learn than MIG, but the hot start and arc force on this machine make striking and holding an arc far easier than an old transformer welder. Expect a weekend of practice on scrap before you stop sticking the rod.
What warranty does it have?
12 months through the New Zealand importer. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase.
Do you deliver NZ-wide?
Yes, to every address in New Zealand. Orders over $200 ship free to most urban addresses. Rural and island addresses may carry a surcharge that shows at checkout. South Island deliveries usually arrive in two working days from dispatch, North Island two to three.
