Dispatch and Tracking
We work to get your order out the door on the same day or the following business day. If you place your order after 11 am, it will generally be processed on the next working day. Everything we send is tracked and requires a signature upon arrival to ensure your gear is delivered safely, which is why we cannot deliver to PO Boxes. As soon as the transport company picks up your items, we will send the tracking information directly to your email so you can monitor its progress.
Delivery Estimates
Our delivery times are provided in good faith based on the schedules of our transport partners. For customers in the South Island, you can typically expect your order within two working days of dispatch. For those in the North Island, delivery usually takes between two and three working days. If you are at a rural address, please allow an extra day or two for the local driver to reach you. If there is a significant delay for any reason, we will get in touch via email to let you know.
Shipping Fees and Calculations
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your specific location. It is important to select the correct delivery area, as choosing a non-rural option for a rural address will cause a delay while we sort out the correct fee. A $40.00 rural delivery fee applies to RD addresses, and deliveries to islands like Waiheke start at $34.29. Saturday deliveries carry a minimum charge of $108.50, and there is a $6.35 fee for any dangerous goods consignments. If the shipping estimate at checkout does not cover the actual cost for a particularly bulky order, we may need to contact you to discuss the final freight cost.
Bulky and Heavy Deliveries
Because our products are professional grade and often quite heavy, delivery is strictly a curb-side service. This means the driver will get the item to your property boundary but is not responsible for taking it up stairs or into difficult to reach areas. For very large or over length items, the driver may need a hand with the unloading process. If you are unable to assist or require a two person delivery team, please reach out to us at sales@traderoots.co.nz before you place your order so we can arrange a solution, though please note that an additional fee may apply.
Damages and Risk
All items are shipped under a contract where the risk passes to you once the carrier picks up the goods, so we recommend that you arrange your own transit insurance for peace of mind. It is vital that you check the condition of your gear as soon as it arrives and before you sign for the delivery. If you notice any damage or faults, please report them to info@traderoots.co.nz with photos within 24 hours of arrival. We are unable to accept damage claims that come in after this 24 hour window has passed.
