General Tools

General hand tools for the workshop, ute and home garage, from $7 to $175. The odds and ends every toolbox needs: hammers and mallets, tape measures and squares, pin punches and pry bars, ratchet tie down straps, utility knives, drill bits and extractors, and trim removal tools, magnetic pick ups and grease guns. Everything sells on its own with a part number, so you replace one tool rather than buying a kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the general tools range?
Everything that does not fit a neat category: utility knives, files, pry bars, clamps, tie downs, bungee cords, cut off wheels, extractors, workshop rags and moving blankets. The things you buy when you realise mid job that you do not have one.
How do I remove a rounded or snapped bolt?
A bolt extractor set. For a rounded head, hammer a spiral extractor socket over it and turn. For a snapped bolt, drill a pilot hole and wind in a screw extractor. The 5 piece Trades Pro set at $10 handles screws and small bolts, bigger kits are listed alongside.
Which cut off wheels fit my grinder?
Match the disc diameter to the grinder, 115mm for a 4.5 inch and 125mm for a 5 inch grinder, with a 22mm bore. The 1mm Inox wheels here cut steel and stainless cleanly and come in packs of 8 for $15.
What rags are best for a workshop?
Microfibre for glass, paint and anything you do not want scratched, sold by the kilo at $15. Industrial wipes in a dispenser pack for oil and grease. Keep both and stop using the good towels.
Are ratchet tie downs rated?
Yes, each strap has a lashing capacity on the label. The 2 piece set at $15 suits securing tools, bikes and furniture on a trailer. For vehicles and heavy loads use rated straps with a higher lashing capacity, listed in the tie down straps range.
