The Weldco MIG225 Weldco 225 MIG/MMA/TIG Welding Machine is built for mechanics, auto workshops, trade professionals across New Zealand. Multi-process inverter welder with stepless voltage and wire speed control. Compatible with D300 (15kg) or D200 (5kg) spools. Optional spool gun for aluminium and stainless steel. Includes MIG torch with MB25 style (3M lead), argon regulator, 5kg roll adaptor, earth clamp and lead, twist-lock electrode holder and lead, dual rollers (0.8/0.9mm knurled gasless; 0.6/0.8mm V-grooved gas), and gas hose.

FAQs

What can the MIG225 weld?
Mild steel to 10mm with MIG, stick welding, lift TIG, and aluminium, stainless or silicon bronze with the optional spool gun. Stepless voltage and wire speed give full control of the arc, and it still weighs only 15kg.
MIG225 or MIG200DS?
The MIG225 has more output, takes full 15kg spools and includes the regulator, so it suits a workshop that welds most days. The MIG200DS is lighter on the wallet and has synergic auto settings, which beginners like. Both do MIG, stick and lift TIG.
What thickness of steel will it handle?
Up to 10mm mild steel in a single pass, more with a bevel and multiple passes. This is the machine for trailer builds, stock yards and light fabrication.
What plug does it run on?
A 15 amp plug, the type with the larger earth pin. Most garages only have 10 amp sockets, and an electrician can add a 15 amp outlet for a modest cost. Running a 200 amp class machine at full output needs that supply.
Gas or gasless?
Both. Gasless flux cored wire needs no bottle and works outdoors in a breeze, with more spatter to clean off. Solid wire with an argon and CO2 mix gives cleaner welds indoors. Most people start gasless and add a bottle later. See our MIG wire range. It takes both 15kg D300 and 5kg D200 spools, with knurled rollers for gasless and V groove rollers for gas included.
What is in the box?
The MIG225 power source, an MB25 style MIG torch with 3 metre lead, argon regulator, 5kg spool adaptor, heavy duty earth clamp and lead, twist lock electrode holder and lead, both roller sets and a gas hose. Helmet, gloves and wire are separate.
Is it any good for a beginner?
Yes, though it is more machine than a first timer needs. Stepless controls give full say over the arc once you know what you want. Our welding for beginners guide walks through the first jobs.
What warranty does it have?
12 months through the New Zealand importer. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase.
