FAQs

What will the PBI2000X run?
Camping, caravans, a fridge and freezer in a power cut, lights, phone and laptop charging, a TV and small power tools. Rated at 1,800W continuous and 2,000W peak, it will run a fridge or a freezer, a jug on its own, or up to eighteen 100W lights. It will not run a heat pump or a jug and a toaster at the same time. If you need more, two units can be paired for 4,000W.
Can I run two PBI2000X in parallel?
Yes. With the optional parallel kit, two units join to give around 3,600W continuous. That is a popular setup for caravan owners who want to carry two light boxes rather than one heavy generator.
How long does the PBI2000X run on a tank?
Up to 4 hours on its 4 litre tank. That figure is at a moderate load with Eco mode on, which drops the engine speed when you are only drawing a few hundred watts. Flat out on a heavy load, expect less. Let it cool before refuelling and check the oil every tank, the low oil sensor will shut it down before damage is done.
How loud is the PBI2000X?
69 dB measured at 7 metres. That is about the level of a normal conversation, quiet enough for a campsite or caravan park. Eco mode brings the noise down further at light loads.
What outlets does it have and what plug do I need?
One 15 amp IP44 outlet and two USB ports. The outlet takes a standard New Zealand plug, so an extension lead to the caravan or the fridge is all you need. For more power you can parallel two PBI2000X units with the optional kit.
Is the PBI2000X safe for laptops, TVs and battery chargers?
Yes. It is a pure sine wave inverter generator, so voltage and frequency stay steady and total harmonic distortion stays low. Phones, laptops, modern fridges, caravan controllers and cordless tool chargers run the way they do on mains power. A conventional generator cannot promise that.
How heavy is it and can one person move it?
22kg net, 23.7kg boxed. It has a suitcase style case with a carry handle, so one person lifts it into a ute or boot. It is the lightest generator in the range.
Does it come with a warranty and spare parts in New Zealand?
