Product details

The Powerbuilt RMS6156 is a 7-drawer roller cabinet built for a permanent workshop bay. Seven drawers on smooth ball-bearing slides, a powder-coat finish that handles daily workshop punishment, and a layout that fits most tool collections without waste. This is the cabinet that goes under the tool chest in a proper workshop setup.

Five shallow drawers for sockets, bits, and smaller tools — two deeper drawers for spanners, air lines, and bulkier gear. Load rating is 34.9kg per drawer, which handles even the heaviest socket sets and spanner collections without flexing. The internal locking system secures all drawers from a single lock — useful in a shared workshop or overnight on site.

1.0mm body steel, 0.8mm drawer steel. Protective rubber mat on top doubles as a parts tray. 115mm castors with individual brakes — two swivel, two fixed — so the cabinet stays where you put it when you're working. Drawer liners included.

What are the drawer sizes on the RMS6156 7 drawer roller cabinet?
Five drawers at 560 x 380 x 60mm for hand tools, plus two deep drawers for power tools and bulky gear. The top is at 1,000mm, bench height, so the 9 drawer chest sits on it at a comfortable working height.
How much weight will the drawers take?
34.9kg per drawer on full extension ball bearing slides, so a drawer full of sockets opens all the way and closes square. Put the heaviest tools low and the ones you use most at waist height.
Does it lock?
Yes. An internal central locking system with keys locks every drawer with one turn. Drawer liners are fitted, so tools do not slide or rattle.
What are the dimensions and weight?
680mm wide, 460mm deep, 1,000mm high, 47kg. Steel is 0.8mm drawers and 1.0mm body, which is heavier gauge than most hardware store boxes.
Which chest fits on top?
The RMS6153 or RMS6171 9 drawer chest, and the 6 or 3 drawer chests fit too. Chest and cabinet together are sold as the RS5356 red and RS7172 black combos at a saving over buying both.
What are the wheels like?
Two fixed and two swivel castors with brakes, 115mm by 50mm. Load the heavy tools in the bottom drawers and it rolls across a concrete floor with one hand and stays put when you lock the brakes.
How is it delivered?
It ships by freight on a pallet to any address in New Zealand. Orders over $200 are free to most urban addresses, and heavy, rural or island deliveries may carry a freight charge that shows at checkout. Delivery is kerbside, so have a second person or a trolley ready. South Island addresses usually see it in two working days from dispatch, North Island two to three.
What if I change my mind?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a change-of-mind return, as long as it is unused and in the original packaging. On heavy freight items the return freight is at your cost, and the original freight is deducted from the refund.
