  • Powerbuilts water blasters start where most electric models stop.
  • The two greatest advantages of petrol engines:
  • Portability (no longer ties to the closest power point)
  • Greater horsepower - increases the L/min and PSI
  • When comparing water blasters, most customers only consider PSI, as this is simple to compare.
  • The true comparison can only be achieved by combining your requirements of both PSI & litres per minute.
  • Even a small 1650 PSI water blaster is impressive when only considering the pressure.
  • Think of pressure as the scrubbing brush; the tougher the grime, the higher the pressure required to break the bond.
  • Equally important is the litres per minute, commonly known as washing effect.
  • The larger the surface area of the item to be cleaned, the larger the litreage per minute that is required.
  • Think of this as the broom; a large broom will save time.
  • For the same task;
  • if the 6L/min machine takes 60mins
  • the 10L/min machine will only take 36mins
  • whilst the 15L/min machine will only take 24 mins
  • When higher PSI is required the 1650 PSI will not shift the grim.
  • Chemicals and scrubbing will be needed to break the bond.
  • The Powerbuilt water blaster utilises a proven AR swash plate pump with brass pump head.
  • Complete with on-board detergent tank makes cleaning a breeze, designed to keep you cleaning for about 60mins, a few times a month.
  • The heavy-duty frame with removable handle makes transportation a breeze whilst protecting the pump and engine when folded.
  • All Powerbuilt water blasters come complete with a heavy duty hose and handgun.
  • Spare parts are stocked for all units, please enquire as required.

Your questions answered

FAQs

What will the PBW3100 clean?
At 3100 PSI and 9 litres a minute it handles driveways, paths, decks, fences, house washing, boats, trailers and farm machinery. It will strip flaking paint and lift moss off concrete. For cars and outdoor furniture, stand back and use the wider nozzle, it is more pressure than those jobs need.
Is PSI or litres per minute more important?
Both. Pressure is the scrubbing brush, it breaks the grime loose. Flow is the broom, it carries it away. A machine with more litres a minute cleans a big area faster at the same pressure. Powerbuilt's rule of thumb: a 6 litre a minute machine takes an hour on a job that a 10 litre machine does in 36 minutes.
Petrol or electric, and why petrol here?
Petrol means no cord, so you can wash the boat on the ramp, the tractor in the paddock or the far fence line. It also gives more pressure and flow than a plug-in unit. The trade off is noise and fuel. If everything you clean is within 20 metres of a power point, an electric unit is cheaper and quieter.
What nozzles and hose come with it?
A 7.5 metre high pressure hose, handgun and lance, plus 0 degree, 25 degree and detergent quick connect nozzles. Use the 25 degree for most jobs. The 0 degree is a pencil jet for stubborn spots and will gouge timber, so keep it off decks.
Can it draw water from a tank or a stream?
It is designed to run from a garden tap with positive pressure. Drawing from a tank is possible with a short suction hose and filter if the water level is above the pump, but never run it dry, even for a few seconds, as that damages the pump.
How long can it run at a time?
The brass head axial pump is rated for about 60 minutes of cleaning at a stretch, a few times a month, which suits a home, lifestyle block or small farm. Running it all day every day is commercial use and wants a triplex pump machine.
What engine and fuel?
A 7 HP, 208cc petrol engine running on 91 unleaded with a 3.6 litre tank. Check the oil before each use like a mower. The frame folds and the wheels are puncture proof, so it stows in a shed corner or a ute.
Delivery and warranty?
It ships NZ-wide, free to most urban addresses on orders over $200, with a rural or island surcharge where it applies. Powerbuilt water blasters carry a 12 month warranty through the New Zealand importer and spare parts are stocked for every model.
