A 6-piece file set in 160mm covering the most common file profiles for metalworking, woodworking, and general workshop use. Flat, half-round, round, square, and triangular — between these five profiles and a needle file for finer work, you can handle deburring cut metal, fitting parts to tight tolerances, cleaning up weld spatter, sharpening tool edges, and general shaping work.
Files are a consumable. They sharpen through abrasion and they wear — a dull file skates across the work instead of cutting it. If you're finding that your filing is taking much longer than it should, the files are probably due for replacement. A fresh set makes a surprising difference to how quickly you can move metal.
