0800 422 054A 125mm welding magnet for holding steel components at fixed angles during tack welding and assembly. When you're building a frame, fabricating a box section, or tacking up a bracket, getting the parts to sit at exactly 90 degrees — and stay there while you tack — is the challenge. Welding magnets solve it without needing a second pair of hands or a full jig setup.
The 125mm size gives a stronger hold than the smaller 75mm magnet — better for heavier plate, larger angle sections, and structural steel where the parts are heavier and need more magnetic force to hold position. Standard angles include 45, 90, and 135 degrees, depending on how you position the magnet. Place it, tack, remove it — the whole setup takes seconds.
One thing to know: don't leave welding magnets in contact with the workpiece during prolonged welding. The heat from the weld reduces the magnetism over time. Use them for positioning and tacking, then pull them before running full beads.
Used by fabricators, maintenance welders, and workshop technicians across New Zealand. Available from Trade Roots with fast delivery nationwide.
