Weldco WDC0806 Electrode Holder Twist Lock 400 Amp

A 400 amp twist lock electrode holder for stick (MMA) welding. The electrode holder is the business end of your stick welder — it grips the electrode and carries the welding current to it. At 400 amps, this holder covers everything from light fabrication work right through to heavy structural and plate welding.

The twist lock mechanism is faster than screw-type holders and holds the electrode securely through repeated strikes and rod changes. Compatible with 1.6mm through to 4.0mm electrodes, which covers almost the full range of commonly used rod diameters. Italian design construction with a fully insulated handle for safe operation in all conditions.

If your current holder is worn, has a loose grip, or the insulation is cracked, replace it. A faulty electrode holder is a safety issue as well as a performance one — intermittent connection causes arc instability and increases spatter. This is a part that's worth having a spare of for the workshop.
