Weldco 1mm aluminium MIG welding wire in a 0.5kg spool for aluminium welding on boats, trailers, automotive panels, and general aluminium fabrications. Aluminium wire is a different beast from steel wire — it's softer and requires a push-pull gun or a spool gun for reliable feeding. With the right setup, this wire gives a clean, consistent arc on aluminium plate and extrusions.

Use pure argon shielding gas for aluminium MIG welding — not the argon/CO2 mixes used for steel. Aluminium also needs a dedicated liner in the torch (PTFE or similar) and aluminium-specific contact tips to avoid the feeding issues that come with running aluminium wire through a standard steel-liner torch.

The 0.5kg spool size suits workshops doing occasional aluminium welding rather than production runs. Compact and easy to manage on a spool gun setup.
